Noting Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address declared that “in no way would the United States dare to ignite a war against me and our country,” the statement said this is tantamount to the announcement of the DPRK’s final victory in the standoff with the U.S.
He stressed the need to improve the frozen inter-Korean relations and glorify this meaningful year as an eventful one noteworthy in the history of the nation, it noted, adding:
The facts clearly show that Comrade Kim Jong Un has taken the initiative in the relations with the U.S. and south Korea.
Indeed, he, identical to the great President Kim Il Sung and the great Comrade Kim Jong Il, is a peerlessly great man and the most illustrious commander.
We are determined to proactively support the struggle of the Korean people for the building of a powerful socialist country and the accomplishment of national reunification cause after receiving the New Year greetings extended by him to the progressive peoples and other friends of the DPRK across the world who opposed war of aggression and gave firm solidarity to the DPRK’s cause of justice.
