S. Korean Trade Union Calls for Reduction of Work Hours

Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) — The Medical Solidarity Headquarters of Public Transport Trade Union held a press conference in front of the Seoul City Office on January 10, calling for the reduction of the workers’ labor hours, according to the south Korean newspaper Nodong and Segye.

Speakers said that hospitals have increased the working hours under the pretext of the personnel shortage, adding that such situation would get worse.
They deplored that such practices not only drive workers into death but lead to accidents to threaten even the lives of citizens.
They stressed that the Seoul City authorities should stop encouraging workers’ overtime work.
