S. Korean Trade Union Demands Workers’ Right to Existence

Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) — A Seoul-Inchon public service branch of the Public Transport Workers’ Union of south Korea held a rally in front of Yonsei University on Jan. 17, demanding the recruit of workers and their right to existence, according to the south Korean paper Nodong and Segye.

Speakers at the rally said that the university where students are educated shouldn’t cut down the wages of low-paid workers.
The conservative media are misleading the public opinion, blaming this crisis for the workers’ struggle for hike of minimum wage but the university authorities are to blame as they are bleeding the workers white, they said.
They declared that they would struggle against the restructuring to the last.
