Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) — People from all strata in south Korea are reportedly staging a petition campaign to demand dismissal of Ra Kyong Won of the “Liberal Korea Party” from membership of the organizing committee of the Winter Olympics.
The petition campaign, which started on Jan. 20, was joined by more than 200,000 people as of Jan. 23.
They posted a petition under the title “Remove Ra Kyong Won from membership of the Phyongchang Olympics organizing committee” on the homepage of the Chongwadae, charging that Ra submitted to the International Olympic Committee a document opposing the formation of inter-Korean unified team.
Yonhap News said in this regard that the petition campaign was joined by 200,000 people in just three days after the north’s participation in the Phyongchang Olympics became the focus of attention.
