Day of Shining Star to Be Marked in Hungary

Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) — A Hungarian preparatory committee for celebrating leader Kim Jong Il’s birth anniversary (the Day of the Shining Star) was formed in Budapest on Jan. 15.

Gyula Thurmer, chairman of the Hungarian Workers’ Party, was elected chairman of the committee.
The committee fixed a celebration period from Jan. 15 and Feb. 18 and decided to give wide publicity to the feats of Kim Jong Il and the struggle of the Korean people pushing ahead with the building of a powerful socialist country under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and hold colorful political and cultural events such as a lecture and film show in the period.
