Rodong Sinmun Calls for Smashing Challenge of Separatist Forces

Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) — Rodong Sinmun Sunday in an article cites facts to disclose that the U.S. and Japanese reactionaries and the south Korean confrontational maniacs opposed to reunification are going so reckless as to chill the climate of detente on the Korean Peninsula, being created by the proactive and sincere efforts of the DPRK, and thus realize their sinister ambition.

The article says:
As the DPRK exerts sincere efforts to improve the north-south relations, the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad are getting more pronounced in the moves to stem the trend of the times and realize their ambition for stifling the former.
It is the desire of the compatriots and demand of the times to mend the inter-Korean relations and bring about a signal turn in reunifying the country independently.
The present reality of the north-south relations clearly proves the validity and vitality of the DPRK’s fresh policy for improving the relations.
It is a fruition of the above-said policy that dialogue, contact and exchange between the north and the south of Korea started, though they had remained frozen for a long time owing to the moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad, and climate of detente was created on the Korean Peninsula.
The north and the south should pave a broad avenue to their improved relations which made a good start despite the difficult situation.
The Korean nation is greatly angered by the reckless moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad to incite confrontation while going against the trend of the improvement of the north-south relations.
All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should dynamically pave the road of national reunification under the uplifted banner of national independence while resolutely smashing with their concerted efforts the criminal moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad to check the improvement of the north-south relations and realize their ambition for stifling the DPRK.
