Kim Jong Il’s Birth Anniversary to Be Marked in Sri Lanka

Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) — A Sri Lankan preparatory committee for celebrating the 76th birth anniversary of HE Kim Jong Il was formed in Colombo on Jan. 21.

Pradif Viseratna Sekara, chairman of the Sri Lanka-People’s Korea Friendship Association and chairman of the Gampaha Branch of the Sri Lanka Society for Self-Reliance Studies, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
The committee set a celebration period from Jan. 21 to Feb. 17 and decided to hold various political and cultural events such as celebration meeting and seminar in praise of the revolutionary career and exploits of leader Kim Jong Il in the period.
