Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) — The 15th ceremony of awarding February 16 Science and Technology Prize took place at the People’s Palace of Culture Monday.
Present there were Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Pak Thae Song, Vice-Premier Jon Kwang Ho, Chairman of the Education Commission Kim Sung Du, officials concerned and scientists, technicians and teachers.
The scientists and technicians of the DPRK settled sci-tech problems arising in strengthening the independent and Juche characters of the national economy and improving the standard of people’s living.
The February 16 Science and Technology Prize certificate and medal were awarded to the fulfillment of more than 10 projects and the Scientific and Technical Innovation Prize certificate to the fulfillment of one project.
The awardees of certificates of the February 16 Science and Technology Prize and the Scientific and Technical Innovation Prize included more than 190 scientists, technicians, teachers and officials of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and other units.
Five persons were selected as the best scientists and technicians of the state for 2017.
