Day of Shining Star Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) — Events took place in different countries ahead of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il, the Day of the Shining Star.

Seminars, book and photo exhibitions, film shows and Taekwon-Do demonstration performances were held in India, the Czech Republic and Sweden between Jan. 20 and 28.
Displayed at their venues were photos showing the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
There were also works of the great persons and books and photos dealing with the successes made by the Korean army and people.
“The Sun of Songun Shedding Its Rays All over the World”, “Kimjongilia” and other Korean films were shown.
The chairman of the Indian Society for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il said that the exploits Kim Jong Il performed for accomplishing the socialist cause will be kept in the hearts of the progressive people forever.
The chairperson of the Indian Study Group of Songun Politics said that Kim Jong Il developed the Workers’ Party of Korea into the ever-victorious guiding force, the DPRK into the invincible socialist power, and the Korean People’s Army into the matchless revolutionary ranks.
The first deputy chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association said that the Day of the Shining Star is a common holiday of the world progressive people as well as the Korean people.
The chief of the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that all the successes being achieved in the DPRK today would be unthinkable without the exploits of Kim Jong Il.
