Koreans in China Celebrate Day of Shining Star

Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) — The General Association of Koreans in China held events to celebrate the 76th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star).

Attending the events were officials of the association including Chairwoman Choe Un Bok, delegates of its affiliated organizations, members of the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China, Association of Young Korean Nationals in China and the Association of Korean Enterprisers in China, Korean nationals in Shenyang City and the DPRK consul general in Shenyang and officials of his consulate general and members of the DPRK branches working in China.
Present there on invitation were Koreans of all strata in China and personages in Liaoning Province and Shenyang City.
A meeting of the association took place in Shenyang of China on Feb. 8 to celebrate the Day of the Shining Star.
Choe Un Bok in her report said that leader Kim Jong Il had dedicated his whole life to the people’s happiness, the country’s reunification and accomplishment of the socialist cause, after his birth as the son of guerillas amid the blessing by all compatriots in the days of the anti-Japanese war, until the last moments of his life at a running train and thus performed the immortal revolutionary exploits before history and the people.
A letter to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
Then, the participants watched a Korean film dealing with the efforts made by Kim Jong Il for improving the people’s living standard.
Prior to the meeting, they looked round photos dealing with revolutionary activities of the peerlessly great persons of Mt Paektu and other pictures and books displayed at the venue of a photo and book exhibition for celebrating the Day of the Shining Star.
An art performance was given on Feb. 9 in celebration of the Day of the Shining Star.
On the same day there was a celebration reception.
