Art Troupe of Koreans in Japan Gives Performance for Guests of Honor

Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) — The art troupe of Koreans in Japan gave a music and dance performance at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Saturday to celebrate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Invited to the performance were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Im Chol Ung, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the C.C., the Korean Social Democratic Party, officials of ministries and national institutions and working people in the city.
Among the audience were a congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan, delegations of overseas Koreans and compatriots.
The numbers of the performance, which began with prologue “We Extend Glory to General”, included mixed duet “Cantata to General Kim Jong Il” and “Sea of Apples at Foot of Chol Pass”.
The performers highly praised the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il who led the socialist cause of Juche to ever-victory and laid an eternal foundation for prosperity of Kim Il Sung’s Korea.
The audience gave thunderous applauses when the numbers including Jangsaenap solo “Tondollari of Reunification” reflecting the ardent desire of the fellow countrymen for reunification and national flavor were put on the stage.
Numbers including male solo “The Country Is the Marshal” revved up the atmosphere of the performance which represented high proud of the upholding respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in high esteem.
