Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) — To expect to get benefit from the “aid” of the imperialists, while pinning hope on it, is little short of pricking one’s own eyes with one’s own hands, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in an article.
The imperialists’ “aid” is a noose for plunder and subordination for usurping more from what was given and a tool for realizing their strategy for world domination, the article says, and goes on:
To hope for “aid” from the imperialists will precisely lead to ruin and to harbor illusion about the imperialists will end up in destruction. This is an iron truth and lesson taught by history. One should never pin hope nor harbor illusion about “aid” from them but maintain Juche character and national identity. This is the only way for defending a country, achieving its prosperity and building earlier a new independent world.
To build economy in reliance on others while failing to build an independent national economy would never guarantee the independent development of a country and a nation.
The practical experience of our revolution is a living example proving that only when Juche character and national identity are preserved and strong self-supporting national economy is built, can the sovereignty of a country be defended and the dignity and honor of a nation be glorified.
We have so far built the self-supporting national economy while maintaining the Juche-oriented line all the time, unperturbed by any pressure.
That’s why we are dynamically advancing toward the final victory of building a powerful socialist nation despite the vicious sanctions and blockade imposed by the imperialists.
