S. Korean Newspaper Calls for Resolutely Countering Trump’s Economic Pressure

Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) — The south Korean internet newspaper Minjok Ilbo in an editorial on Feb. 22 urged the authorities to resolutely counter Trump’s economic pressure and provocation.

The U.S. economic pressure on south Korea gets more serious due to Trump’s “America-first” policy, the editorial said, adding:
The U.S. Department of Commerce is taking practical steps following Trump’s remarks in reference to the south Korea-U.S. “Free Trade Agreement” that it was a very bad deal, the agreement was a disaster and that it will be scrapped if it brings no results even though it is now under renegotiations.
The south Korean economy is now reeling under the U.S. steps.
This proves that the south Korea-U.S. alliance is only a signboard and the south Korean economy is strictly under the control of the U.S.
The editorial urged the “government” to rely on the masses and resolutely counter Trump’s pressure and provocation.
