Resolution of Solidarity with DPRK Adopted

Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) — A solidarity resolution on the DPRK was adopted at the meeting of the Presidential Council of the World Federation of Trade Unions in Iran on Feb. 27.

The participants in the meeting express deep concern over the U.S. straining the situation in the Korean peninsula and its vicinity while running frantically to provoke a nuclear war that will stamp out the Korean nation, block its reunification and wreck peace and security of the peninsula and the region, the resolution said.
Branding the U.S. as the main obstacle to the improvement of inter-Korean relations and Korea’s reunification, the root cause of all misfortune and pains suffered by the Korean nation and the chief wrecker of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, it said:
The WFTU strongly urges the U.S. to properly face up to the trend of the times and the reality, roll back its anachronistic hostile policy towards the DPRK and come out to conclude a peace accord with the DPRK as early as possible.
We demand that the U.S. put a complete end to the U.S.-led joint military exercises, the root cause of escalating tension on the peninsula, withdraw its troops and nuclear war hardware from south Korea and immediately stop the illegal sanctions and pressure on the DPRK.
The WFTU ardently appeals to all its member organizations and friendly bodies to extend firm solidarity to the working class and other working people of the DPRK in the struggle for glorifying the 70th birthday of the DPRK as a grand festival of victors by winning a fresh victory on all fronts of building a powerful socialist country through a revolutionary general offensive.
