Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) — A birthrate of south Korea, which has already reached an all-time low in the world, is becoming more deplorable, according to the south Korean MBC on March 1.
The birthrate in south Korea hit the lowest point in the world in 2000, shocking the international community.
Notably, the number of births in 2017 decreased by 11 percent compared to what was in 2016.
Prospect of birthrate looks gloomier, the broadcasting service noted and attributed this to the sharp decrease in marriage, the young joblessness hitting an all time-low and sky-rocketing housing rent.
