Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) — The 4th meeting of the 29th Central Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan (UDKWJ) took place at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on March 3.
Present there were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Kang Chu Ryon, its vice-chairwoman and chairwoman of the Union Central Standing Committee, Han Tong Song, director of the organization department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, and members of the Union Central Committee.
Ho Jong Man in his speech noted that the Union has achieved great successes in rallying broad segments of Korean women in Japan including the rising generation behind the organization through the work celebrating its 70th founding anniversary last year.
He called for striving to significantly greet the 24th Congress of Chongryon and the 30th Congress of the Union.
Kang Chu Ryon in her report said that the Union has firmly carried forward the tradition of it, which had traversed the road of patriotism under the care of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, through an innovation movement conducted to greet the 70th anniversary of its formation.
She stressed the need to consolidate all successes achieved in the innovation movement by further strengthening each branch of the Union, calling for significantly greeting the 24th Congress of Chongryon and the 30th Congress of the Union with the pride of being an overseas women organization which inherited the glorious tradition of the Korean women’s movement.
Then followed speeches.
The meeting decided to hold the 30th Congress of the Union at the Korean Hall on June 8.
A letter to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was read out there.
