Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) — Events were held in different countries between July 4 and 7 to commemorate the 24th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung.
They included lecture meetings in Romania and Myanmar, round-table talks in Venezuela and France and reading sessions in Nigeria, Angola and Uganda.
The chairman of the Romanian National Committee for Remembering President Kim Il Sung said the life of the President was that of a great revolutionary and peerless patriot who devoted his all to the country, the revolution and the people’s freedom and happiness.
He further said:
The President turned the DPRK into an invincible power by adhering to the principle of independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in national defence in the revolution and construction.
No wonder the Korean people could dynamically advance forward, frustrating all sorts of challenges, under the uplifted the banner of socialism even at the grim time when socialism failed in East European countries.
The president of the France-Korea Friendship Association said:
Although over 20 years have passed since the demise of the great President Kim Il Sung, he is still alive in the hearts of not only the Korean people but also the progressive peoples of the world.
The Korean people could always emerge victorious thanks to the original idea and line set forth by the President.
Speakers at the reading sessions lauded the President’s revolutionary career and exploits and expressed belief that the Korean people would achieve greater success in building a powerful socialist country.
