Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) — The National Taekwon-Do All-Star Tournament for Jonsung Cup opened with due ceremony at the Taekwon-Do Hall here Friday on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
In the tournament, players selected from Taekwon-Do teams at all levels, Korea University of Physical Education and Central Physical Training College will compete in Taekwon-Do and Paduk events.
Attending the opening ceremony were Ri Il Hwan, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and vice-chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Kim Yong Ho, secretary general of the Cabinet, Kim Chun Sik, secretary general of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials concerned, sportspersons and working citizens.
Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, made an address there.
At the end of the ceremony, there was a demonstration by players of the Taekwon-Do Team of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.
